Jamie Calabro
Graphic Designer / Web Developer
Previous Work Experience: After graduating from the University of Hartford in December of 2005 I quickly jumped into the freelance world. I began working out of my home designing/developing websites and working at MTV as an interactive designer, I quickly learned what it would take to succeed in the designer/developer world — a pot of coffee and two pounds of food a day.
With an interest in the arts that ranges from the visual to the aural and everything in between, I bring a curiosity to my work matched only by my passion to create and communicate ideas. These exploratory tendencies take root in both my personal and professional life. Coupled with my programming knowledge, my dedication to design leads my personal and professional life and allows me to enjoy work as though it were play.
Education: B.A. University of Hartford, Media Arts/VCD/Interactive Information Technology
Specialties/Skills: Browsing the web and eating at the same time. I can also be found playing with (X)HTML/CSS, XML, Animation, PHP, MySQL, CS3, XSI, *nix, jQuery, JS, .NET, and whatever else comes around the desk. I make a mean bag of popcorn.
Personal Interests: In my free time I'm an avid listener and performer of a broad range of music, a lover of film, a fan of soccer and automotive racing, a dedicated friend, a loving family member and an awesome husband. I'm particularly interested in the design process, search engine optimization, web design, redesign, development, watching stocks tumble with Rick and visiting Mars.
