Robby Pande
Senior Designer
Previous Work Experience: My passion for art and design blossomed on a fateful fall day back in the late '70's when I learned how to hold a crayon and draw a picture. Unfortunately for my parents, my "canvas" came in the form of my bedroom walls. But they couldn't be too mad, as the very first sentence I learned to write and typeset in ‘kidscript' on their real estate was "I love mommy." But they were quick to invest in some large drawing pads and washable markers, and by 1983 I was granted an Apple IIc and I went to town with those 16 brilliant colors and 8 font choices! ‘80's technology at its finest!
Fast-forward... Shortly after graduating college in 1998, I joined the ranks at Time Out New York, where I simultaneously served as an editorial and promotions designer. I was very fortunate in my dual role to not only design various sections of a fast-paced weekly, but also all of their unique marketing materials. At the same time, I started my own one-man design business — Pandesign — taking on various assignments mostly from Off-Broadway theatre companies (including the Classic Stage Company and Signature Theatre Company).
In summer 2000, I relocated to San Francisco where I continued to foster Pandesign, working primarily with clients from major SF arts institutions such as SFMOMA, California College of the Arts, Fort Mason Center, the Wattis Institute, and a number of art galleries.
In spring 2006, one year after earning my Master's degree in San Francisco, I returned to New York City. Having barely even unpacked my boxes, I took on what was offered as a 3-day freelance stint at 'nition/Chandler Chicco Agency at the suggestion of a friend who worked here at the time. As the story goes, 3 days turned into 3 weeks... turned into 3 months... and I was honored to join 'nition as a full-time designer in December 2006.
